This week was Take Your Child to Work Day, so my daughter Izzy came to teach with me. The nursery we visited is the one she attended as a toddler, and it was one of the very first settings I taught in when Happy Kids Yoga began ten years ago.
Walking back through that door with Izzy next to me felt like closing a loop. We ran three sessions together. She joined in, helped the younger ones settle, and filmed a few clips for our franchisees. Watching her do it reminded me why this work matters to me.
Children’s yoga is never only about the poses. It is about calm, confidence and a few minutes of stillness in a noisy day.
Seeing a nursery we have worked with for so long full of happy, settled children brought home something I rarely stop to notice. This is work that lasts. Not for a term, but across years, friendships and whole communities.
Why I wanted to share this
If you are weighing up joining Happy Kids Yoga, a small moment like this tells you more about the job than any brochure. Day to day, it looks like this:
- You build real relationships with nurseries, schools and families
- You become a familiar face in your community
- You bring calm into classrooms
- You watch children grow and change over the years
- You shape your working week around your own family
- And now and then, like me, you get to bring your child along and show them what you do
Those are the quiet rewards. They do not fit neatly in an info pack, but they are what make this a career rather than a job.
A career that grows with you
Happy Kids Yoga has been part of my life for a decade. It is flexible, purposeful work that fits around family life and still lets you make a real difference where you live.
If you are after a change next year, something calmer and more meaningful that sits well with your values, this might be the direction you have been looking for. I am always glad to answer questions, walk you through the training or simply talk about whether it would suit you.
